Massachusetts Mental Health Center (Fenwood Development)
Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Client: The Architectural Team/Roxbury Tenants of Harvard
The Department of Capital Asset Management (DCAM), together with Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Partners Healthcare, are constructing a large mixed-use development to replace the existing Massachusetts Mental Health Center Building (MMHC). The development is being constructed in three phases. Phase one consists of the demolition of the existing MMHC and the construction of a replacement clinical and office building at Binney Street and a partial hospital at Fenwood Inn. The Binney Street Building has two green roofs and is on track for LEED Gold Certification. The Fenwood Inn is complete and has been awarded LEED Silver Certification.
The project also includes a 15-story residential building and a 14-story medical office and research building with an underground parking garage. Copley Wolff Design Group has been providing both schematic design and permitting services for both phases two and three of the project as well as construction documents for interim site conditions between project phases.
