Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Client: Gensler

The site of the old Boston Garden will soon be a new mixed-use community offering the city new residences, office buildings, retail space, restaurants, a hotel, and outdoor green space. Copley Wolff Design Group’s scope of work includes the planning and design of the streetscape, a residential alley, and a roof deck amenity space located on the eighth floor of one of the office towers.

The amenity space consists of two large areas of vegetated green roof systems and lounge and dining areas for office employees. The streetscape contains moveable planters, a permeable furnishing strip for stormwater management, and designated areas for seating and bicycle parking. The design of the West Alley includes paving patterns to establish connections and concrete planters that frame the entrances to the adjacent residential tower and North Station.
