Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Client: CBT Architects

The former Graybar Electric Co. warehouse site in the South End is being redeveloped into two residential buildings containing 560 apartments and ground floor retail and restaurant space.

Copley Wolff Design Group is designing the perimeter streetscape, a pedestrian-oriented garden promenade that will serve as a primary thruway for the retail and restaurant users, outdoor dining space, private terraces, and two green roofs. A central courtyard at the intersection of both buildings is defined with specialty paving and a raised lawn open space.

A fully-accessible green roof located on top of the parking structure will include common gathering space, an outdoor kitchen, an herb garden, and views of the promenade below; the second green roof will be for viewing purposes only; and the individual roof terraces will provide private outdoor spaces for the tenants.
