Copley Wolff Design Group developed a landscaping scheme that incorporates spectacular existing specimen trees into an overall site plan for a 36,300-square-foot building and parking lot. The building is one of the most technologically-advanced and sustainable biotech buildings in the Commonwealth.
The master plan for the site called for the installation of rain gardens, the utilization of recaptured rainwater, and the incorporation of recycled on-site materials. CWDG designed environmentally sensitive landscaping to correspond with the LEED-certified building which is located on what was once a brownfields site. Over 25 mature trees were spared, giving the finished project the benefits of passive cooling/heating from tree canopy, as well as the aesthetic appeal of a natural setting.
