Location: Allston, Massachusetts
Client: Stantec and New England Development
Copley Wolff Design Group is assisting in the design of the pedestrian environment and public spaces within the new mixed-use development. The site design contains a bike-friendly street system with public spaces to engage visitors and reflect the unique character of the Allston neighborhood. Copley Wolff’s scope of work includes roof top amenity spaces, a neighborhood green, a dog park, and connections to the MBTA Commuter Rail train station.
The streetscape is comprised of a permeable paver furnishing strip with stone seats and raised planters; a sidewalk-level cycle track; information pylons; areas for bike sharing programs; outdoor retail and dining spaces; trees and plantings; and connections to the retail components of the new development and adjacent neighborhood.
The Community Green will be open to residents as well as the Allston-Brighton community. The public Green will support art, food and music venues; bring people together, and act as a transition to the MBTA station.
