Location: East Boston, Massachusetts
Client: ICON Architecture
Located on a site that had been vacant for decades, Boston East now offers a combination of public and private uses including a 200-unit apartment complex with six “live-work-sell” units for artists; a 400-foot harborwalk with kayak launch; a community gallery; and open space.
Copley Wolff Design Group designed a public park, allowing East Boston residences safe and convenient access to the harbor side. The park contains interpretive artwork, designed by local artists that reflects the site’s shipbuilding and marine railway history. The landscape design also includes the extension of the Harborwalk along the entire length of the property which provides an inviting pathway along the East Boston Harbor.
