MGM Springfield is a mixed-use district comprised of shops, restaurants, entertainment venues, movie theaters, a hotel with conference facilities, and a casino. Copley Wolff designed a public plaza, marketplace, a city park, and three roof deck terraces for the hotel and Conference Center.
The open air marketplace provides space for seasonal markets and a winter ice skating rink; the main plaza is used for outdoor performances, food trucks, and gathering; and DaVinci Park contains formal ornamental planting beds, walking paths, and a central sculpture.
The pool terrace provides seating and lounge areas. The hotel roof terrace is comprised of a central common area with a large format exterior chess board, catenary lighting, gardenesque plantings, and private Lanai decks for the hotel suite guests. The conference terrace serves the adjoining meeting rooms and overlooks the plaza below.
