Copley Wolff collaborated closely with the architectural team to reimagine an existing structure into a vibrant, contemporary research facility that seamlessly integrates convenience retail and thoughtfully designed public amenities. Our landscape architecture approach enhances both the user experience and the urban fabric, delivering lasting value to our clients and the community.
The site features a dynamic mix of gathering spaces and tranquil retreats, including seating nestled within a birch grove and perennial gardens curated for year-round visual interest. These elements foster a welcoming environment for employees and visitors alike, encouraging interaction, relaxation, and connection.
Adjacent to a major MBTA station, the project includes flush decking and a generous activity lawn that expands the retail footprint while offering much-needed public green space. These features not only support commercial vitality but also contribute to the area's livability and civic identity.
Sustainability is central to our design philosophy. We integrated permeable paving and a robust stormwater management system, including rain gardens and a planted retention basin, to ensure ecological resilience and regulatory compliance. These systems demonstrate our commitment to environmental stewardship while reducing long-term operational costs for our clients.
