An existing building was transformed into a modern research building with much-needed convenience retail. Copley Wolff worked with the architect to design a site that is enjoyed by employees and the public alike. Seating opportunities are situated amidst a grove of birch trees and gathering spaces are surrounded by perennial gardens designed to provide seasonal interest.
Flush decking and a large activity lawn, adjacent to an MBTA Station, augment the retail spaces and provide much-needed public outdoor space for the area. Copley Wolff incorporated sustainable design features such as permeable paving and an extensive storm water management system comprised of a series of rain gardens and a planted retention basin.
