This year at the AIA National Conference in Boston, dive into the city’s most groundbreaking urban landscapes with two tours led by our very own experts!
Tour #1:
Join Andrew Arbaugh, Principal, on Friday, June 6 at 1:30 pm for '“Clarendon Hill: Building Community, One Modular Block at a Time.” Explore West Somerville’s nine-story, steel-and-concrete modular high-rise - phase one of a transformative mixed-income community. You’ll hear from all the team leaders including Kendra Halliwell (ICON Architecture), Cory Mian (POAH), Jim Tracey (Delbrook JKS), and Steve Perdue (LabNine) as they unpack community engagement, urban reknitting, and first-of-its-kind modular construction methods.
And Tour #2:
Join Sean Sanger, Principal, on Saturday, June 7 at 11 am for “Square, Greenway, Plaza: Giant Green Roofs That Changed Boston,” an exclusive, behind-the-scenes walk through Post Office Square, the Rose Kennedy Greenway, City Hall Plaza, and more. You’ll learn how landscape architects reclaimed downtown over transit hubs, garages, and critical infrastructure to deliver high-performing public spaces that manage stormwater, boost biodiversity, and cool our city. Other team leaders include Diana Fernandez Bibeau (City of Boston), Gretchen Rabinkin (BSLA), Maurico Gomez (Sasaki), and Robert Uhlig (Halvorson | Tighe & Bond), this fully accessible tour is packed with strategies you can apply tomorrow!
