The University recently completed a new state-of-the-art 188,000-square-foot Recreation Center. Copley Wolff ’s scope included universal accessibility throughout the site, a streetscape design to enhance the pedestrian experience, and improved connections to the Business School Quad designed by Copley Wolff and completed in 2014.
Responding to the steeply sloped site on the north side of the building, a stepped lawn with seasonal plantings and shade trees and structural granite steps with unique seating elements provide outdoor spaces for students and faculty to sit and gather.
The landscape incorporates sustainable design elements such as bio-swales, permeable paving, and native plant materials.
