Willow Park Reaches Major Design Milestone
August 18, 2026
Willow Park Redevelopment, Watertown, MA
Willow Park is one step closer to providing 138 affordable rental homes in Watertown following the submission of 100% construction documents this month.
A partnership between the Watertown Housing Authority and Preservation of Affordable Housing, the redevelopment will replace 60 aging public housing units with three residential buildings designed to address longstanding accessibility, infrastructure, and housing needs.
For Copley Wolff, the landscape is integral to what makes this development a community. In collaboration with our client, Mass Design Group, our design connects the three sites through accessible pedestrian routes, shared outdoor amenities, and landscaped streetscapes that tie the new buildings into the surrounding neighborhood.
A central open space creates room for residents to gather, while a publicly accessible playground extends the benefits of the redevelopment to neighborhood families. Preserved mature trees, new plantings, and shaded outdoor spaces reinforce the site’s residential character and support its sustainability goals.
The construction document milestone reflects years of coordination among residents, community partners, and the project team, and meaningful progress toward affordable homes supported by outdoor spaces for everyday life.
