Copley Wolff partnered with the City of Springfield to reimagine Court Square as a vibrant, welcoming civic destination at the heart of downtown. Working with a diverse and collaborative team, the project transforms a historically significant space into an active public realm designed to attract residents, visitors, and investors.
The revitalized Court Square blends historic character with contemporary amenities, creating a cohesive landscape and streetscape that supports everyday use as well as special events.
At the intersection of Main and Court Streets—one of the City’s busiest corridors—the design introduces traffic-calming measures and enhanced pedestrian connections that prioritize safety, accessibility, and ease of movement.
New plazas and shared-use streets provide flexible space for gatherings, performances, and festivals, reinforcing Court Square’s role as a dynamic civic hub.
